Commodity prices plummeted on Monday after the US House of Representatives rejected the Bush government's USD 700 billion bail-out plan and a series of bank rescues took place in Europe.
The ICE Brent November crude oil contract in London ended the day down USD 9.56 at USD 93.98/bbl after having opened at USD 103.29/bbl. In New York, the WTI contract for November delivery also nosedived; opening at USD 106.83/bbl, but settling USD 10.52 below the previous close at USD 96.37/bbl.
