Oil prices opened a touch softer on Thursday after gaining over USD 1 in the previous session despite a larger than expected weekly build in US crude inventories.
The front month contract for Brent North Sea crude oil was last seen changing hands at USD 79.02/bbl, down 22 cents on the previous close.
On Wednesday, the Brent contract gained USD 1.07 day on day to close at USD 79.25/bbl while in New York the front month WTI contract rose by USD 1.19 to USD 80.87/bbl.
