Commodities - Oil hits new record

Prices for crude oil rose sharply in afternoon trading Wednesday, hitting an all-time high in New York. Natural gas, coal and carbon prices also moved higher.
On the ICE exchange in London , the Brent contract for April settled at USD 101.64/barrel, USD 4.12 higher than the previous day. The contract traded at a high of USD 102.02/b earlier in the session, having opened at USD 97.75 a barrel. At the time of writing, the contract was changing hands at USD 101.45/b.On the New York Nymex exchange, the front-month WTI contract gained USD 5 on the
