The front month Brent contract for crude oil traded below USD 55 for the first time since January 2007 on Tuesday amid concerns of an oversupplied market.
Brent crude oil shed USD 3.37 during the course of the day to settle at USD 55.71/bbl, but recorded an intraday low at USD 54.92/bbl. In New York, the WTI contract for December delivery ended the day USD 3.08 lower than the previous at USD 59.33/bbl.
