Oil prices are rising on Monday morning on the back of a more optimistic outlook for the global economy, players said.
The front month contract for Brent North Sea crude oil was last seen changing hands at USD 54.00/bbl on the ICE platform, up USD 0.53 on Friday's close.
Prices were strengthening as players anticipated signs of economic recovery ahead of the publication of US corporate earnings in the course of this week.
The optimism had also been fuelled by the G20
