Oil is firming on Tuesday morning after overnight gains amid growing fears Iran could blockade a major supply route, with a resulting price hike that "could risk derailing the recent economic recovery in the US”, one analyst said.
The front month contract for Brent North Sea crude oil was last seen changing hands at USD 110.83/bbl on the Ice platform, up USD 0.25 on Monday's close to the time of writing.
On Nymex, the WTI March contract last traded USD 0.25 higher at USD 99.83/bbl.
