Oil prices are firming on Thursday afternoon despite a more bearish than expected EIA inventories report, players said.
The front month contract for Brent North Sea crude oil, which expires on Thursday, was last seen changing hands up USD 0.32 at USD 78.63/bbl on the ICE platform. On Nymex, the WTI February contract traded USD 0.31 higher at USD 79.96/bbl.
On Wednesday, the Brent contract shed USD 0.99 to close at USD 78.31/bbl, following trades in a USD 77.04-79.09/bbl range, while the WTI contract
