Oil prices on Monday are marginally extending Friday's gains, when contracts rose more than 2% following better than expected US retail numbers and renewed hopes of a resolution to the eurozone crisis, players said.
The front month December contract for Brent crude North Sea on the Ice exchange last changed hands at USD 112.34/bbl, EUR 0.11 higher than Friday's close, when the contract rallied USD 3.03.
On Nymex, the front month contract was last seen at USD 87.16/bbl, up USD 0.36 on the previous close, when it settled USD 2.57 higher.
