Oil prices are looking weaker on Wednesday morning as Germany's announcement late on Tuesday to ban short selling on some financial stocks has added downward pressure, said players.
The front month contract for Brent North Sea crude oil was last seen changing hands at USD 74.20/bbl on the ICE platform, down USD 0.23 on Tuesday's close.
On Tuesday, the front month Brent contract lost USD 0.67 to settle at USD 74.43/bbl, while in New York the front month WTI contract ended USD 0.67 weaker at USD 69.41/t.
