Prices for crude oil surged to new record levels Tuesday, as the front-month contract came close to breaking the USD 110 mark in New York.
On the Nymex exchange, the West Texas Intermediate contract for April delivery traded at a high of USD 109.72/barrel and a low of USD 106.61/bbl before settling at USD 108.75/bbl, 85 cents higher than the previous settlement price. On the ICE exchange in London, the front-month Brent contract moved up USD 1.09 on the previous session to close at USD 105.25/bbl, having opened at USD 103.9
