Oil prices are continuing to climb on Thursday morning following Wednesday's bullish US crude inventory report and as the market awaits this afternoon's official government data, players said.
The front month contract for Brent crude North Sea oil was last seen trading at USD 85.25/bbl, USD 0.61 higher day on day, while its WTI counterpart went through last USD 0.78 higher at USD 83.78/bbl.
Oil prices extended gains in post-settlement trading following the "surprise drop” in crude supplies, Phillip Futures analysts said.
