Oil prices broke through the USD 120 barrier in New York yesterday amid supply disruptions in Nigeria and a more positive outlook for the US economy.
The front month WTI crude contract at Nymex reached a new all time high of USD 120.36/barrel before it fell back to a settlement price of USD 119.97/barrel. This morning the contract was last seen at USD 120.04.The supply situation in  Nigeria remains tense, with Royal Dutch Shell being forced to reduce output after an attack by militants on Saturday.
