Crude oil traded near a one-week low in New York as it looks like tropical storm Ernesto may avoid Gulf platforms.
Ernesto, which struck southernCuba yesterday, moved north-east on its way to Florida and South Carolina and will probably not do any damage in the Gulf. BP has restored output from its Prudhoe Bay field in Alaska to about 200,000 barrels a day, half the daily production capacity, Bloomberg reports.Oil also traded lower as an Energy Department report tomorrow will probably show U.S. refin
