Oil prices came up two dollars in New York yesterday after a fire shut output from the Elk Hill fields in California.
The front month crude contract at Nymex is trading above 60 dollars this morning, building further on the two dollar increase yesterday to USD 59.71/MWh. Brent is also on the rise. Yesterday, the March contract gained 1.80 to settle at 59.03, and this morning the contract was last seen at 59.27.Prices rose after Occidental Petroleum Corp. said it shut most output from the Elk Hill fields
