Commodities - No limits for coal

Coal prices are continuing their upward path and were yesterday joined by oil, where prices climbed for the first time in three days.
After having risen more than three dollars on Monday, the Q1-08 coal contract on the API 2 curve gained another USD 1.58 yesterday to settle at a mid price of USD 106.88/t. The following quarter as well as the front year contract followed the same pattern. Q2-08 ended the day one dollar above the previous close at USD 101.75, while the year-ahead closed at USD 101.13/t, up just over a dollar.
