Oil moved sideways on Tuesday, UK gas firmed a touch while carbon appeared immune to the bull run in German power.
In general gas prices gained a touch on Tuesday, remaining at high levels. In the UK, the NBP day-ahead for Wednesday fell slightly to 70.40p/therm, while within day gained almost six pence to 72.55p/therm. Next Monday was still high, trading slightly up at 76.25.
Further out, the front months fell a touch, with Feb 06 at 84.00 and March at 73.15. Winter ’06 gained 0.40 to 78.40 and Cal ’06 traded up 0.18 to 62.05p/therm with Cal ’07 at 58.45p/therm. A similar price picture was seen at Zeebrugge, although day-ahead firmed 6.75 to 72.35. At the TTF, most contracts moved down a touch; Jan ’06 ended down 0.25 to EUR 25.90/MWh,
