The case for fuel switching seems to have been lost a long time ago, and with the gas prices increasing again on Wednesday, CO2 prices appeared to be kept high by a keen buying interest in a busy session.
CO2 continued to climb amid near-record high volumes in the morning session. According to Point Carbon, many utilities were buying in the morning and one power generator was seen to have reversed his position and was buying up allowances instead.
