Oil prices are strengthening on Monday morning on a continued weak dollar in thin trading, although some players are looking for reasons beyond the US currency, a player said.
The front month contract for Brent North Sea crude oil was last seen changing hands at USD 70.77/bbl on the ICE platform, up USD 0.77 on Friday's close.
On Nymex, the WTI November contract was last seen at USD 72.53/bbl, down USD 0.76 on Friday's close.
"The dollar is slightly weaker, but that's probably not the main driver today,” said Clarence Chu
