The end of the gas dispute between Russia and Ukraine yesterday eased nerves across the European energy markets yesterday. Gas prices for February fell in value but oil gained for the fifth consecutive day.
Russian andUkraine yesterday clinched a five-year gas deal, easing supply fears in both Ukraine and Europe. Under the deal, Russia’s Gazprom will be paid USD 230 per 1,000 cubic metres of gas it sells to Ukraine.
