Commodities – Gas and oil soften

Prompt gas prices in the UK fell sharply yesterday, although high prices for next week underline the nervousness in the market. Oil fell back on healthy inventory figures.
Intraday gas prices on the NBP finished the day at 86.85 p/th yesterday, representing a huge slide from the peaks above 250 p/th on Monday and Tuesday. The day-ahead contract settled at 103.75 p/th, down 49.75 day on day.Players are still nervous about supplies though, which is reflected in the price for next week, that settled at 137.50 p/th yesterday (-27.00).
