Oil prices gained almost one dollar on Monday and continued up this morning to approach the 70 mark once again; both carbon and prompt gas prices were also seen higher on the first day of the week.
Amid high intraday volatility, Brent crude for July gained 0.67 on Friday’s settlement price to settle at USD 69.35 a barrel. Prices moved in tandem on Nymex where the WTI gained 0.70 to 69.23, a gain that was explained by the announcement by Venezuela that it would push OPEC next week to cut oil production.
