Carbon prices showed only few movements on Wednesday but “rested on a high level,” one market participant said. Oil climbed further up and prices below USD 60 barrel begin to appear as relatively moderate. On the back of this development, also gas prices firmed.
Oil prices maintained their journey to the north for the fourth day in a row. At NYMEX, August Crude settled at USD 61.28/barrel, up 1.69. The two following months settled above the 62 mark, and November costs already over 63 bucks. At IPE, Brent contracts moved 1.25 upwards on average with August settling at 59.85 (+1.56).
