All markets were continuing north on Tuesday, with oil hitting a record USD 88.20 a barrel in New York, and UK gas strengthening more than 10 per cent during intra-day trading.
In New York, the front month WTI contract gained another USD 1.48 from the record strong settlement on Monday to end the day at USD 87.61 a barrel.
