Oil prices are slightly softer on Friday morning as the weak economic climate overshadows the effects of geopolitical tension between Israel and Palestinian militants in Gaza and the ongoing gas dispute between Russia and Ukraine, players say.
Brent North Sea crude oil for March delivery was last seen changing hands at USD 47.41/bbl on the ICE platform, down USD 0.27 on Thursday's close. In New York, the March WTI contract last changed hands at USD 43.30/bbl, USD 0.24 below the previous close.
