Commodities – Crude oil trades around USD 70

Crude oil traded around the USD 70 mark on Thursday as Iran ignored the UN nuclear programme deadline. Carbon prices also traded slightly up, as did the gas and coal markets.
The UN’s International Atomic Energy Agency said Iran has not suspended its nuclear production in a report published yesterday, the council’s deadline for the nation to halt the programme. Crude oil prices sank below the USD 69/bbl level, but recovered by the day end. The price of emitting CO2 edged down a notch below the EUR 16 mark.
