Commodities - Crude oil falls

Oil prices are dropping as the hurricane fears eases. Gas prices also fell yesterday while coal strengthened.
Crude oil prices fell yesterday on speculation that hurricane Dean will miss US production facilities in theGulf of Mexico.The September contract fell 86 cents to USD 71.12/barrel in New York, and dropped further to USD 70.66 in after-hours electronic trading. The contract expires at the close of trading tomorrow and the now more actively traded October contract was down 34 cents to USD

Oil prices jumped on Friday, but are heading south again as hurricane Dean seems to miss the oil platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. Meanwhile, coal prices fell at the end of the week, contributing to firmer CO2 prices.
