Commodities - Coal hits USD 100

Coal prices rose considerably during the week, and the front contracts reached the predicted USD 100 mark on Friday. Gas prices also firmed, while oil prices eased off.
The Q4-07 contract settled at a midprice of USD 100.50/t on the API 2 curve, a USD 2.10 gain from Thursday and USD 8.75 higher than the previous Friday. Cal 08 ended the week at a midprice of USD 97/t, up USD 2.50 from the previous close and up USD 8.25 week on week.Gas prices also ended the week firmly, both in the UK and on the continental markets.
