Commodities - Certain volatility

The second phase carbon allowances saw yet another volatile session on Thursday, although the traded range did not extend as wide as on Wednesday.
The December 08 opened yesterday at EUR 21.80/tonne on the ECX, traded as high as EUR 23.49, while it was fixed at EUR 23 sharp. At its lowest, the benchmark second phase contract was seen at 21.15 on the Amsterdam based exchange. One analyst yesterday summed up current sentiment in the carbon market by saying that the only certainty at the moment was volatility. Oil gains
