Aggressive industrial selling pushed emissions allowance prices to new lows on Wednesday, while crude oil is trading slightly up on Thursday morning, traders said.
The December EUA contract ended the day at a record low settlement of EUR 8.49/tonne, 84 cents below the previous close.
"Cash-strung industrials proceed to sell allowances on the spot market on low output and small order volumes. EUAs will come under further pressure during the coming weeks on recession fears,” said Heikki Herrtuainen from the Green Stream Network brokera
