Commodities – Carbon closed at six-month low

Prices for carbon allowances dropped for a third day on Friday, and the gas markets continue the downwards movement. Meanwhile, oil and coal prices firmed.
Carbon prices fell for the third day in a row, and set a new six-month low closing price of EUR 10.65 for allowances for delivery in December, despite bullish fuel fundamentals. A lot of EUAs are believed to be coming to market from installations with a surplus from last year before of the end of the financial year, traders told Point Carbon.However, profit-taking on the 2006/2008 spread
