Commodities - Carbon and coal climb

Tuesday was another day with a carbon bull run as EUAs were changing hands at well above 19 euros. Also coal moved up, as gains of more than a dollar were registered, while crude oil eased.
The European carbon prices firmed further on Tuesday with Point Carbon’s volume weighted price assessment strengthening 55 eurocents to EUR 19.45. Some 720,000 EUAs were reported traded on the OTC market, with players quoted by Point Carbon seeing the German Cal 06 as the main driver for the CO2 price movements yesterday.At Nord Pool 95,000 allowances were traded, all in the 2005 v

Commodities - Oil above 40 next 3-4 years
Oil prices traded as high as USD 55 on Wednesday. In the evening, Lord Browne, the chief executive of BP, stated his most bullish outlook so far, saying he expected world oil prices to remain at “something over USD 40 a barrel” until more supplies come online in three to four years.

Prices on the European carbon allowance market firmed slightly at the start of the new trading week. Gains were registered also for coal and gas. Crude oil closed the day with a retreat, but only after soaring to six-week highs earlier in the day.
