Commodities – BP cuts output at Prudhoe Bay

Oil prices are rising this morning after BP said it had to further cut down oil production from the Prudhoe Bay oilfield in Alaska. Yesterday, oil fell along with other commodities.
BP said Wednesday it had to reduce output at the Alaskan oilfield from 200,000 barrels a day to 110,000 barrels, Financial Times reports. Output from the huge oil field had already been halved following pipeline problems earlier this month.Front month Brent is up 23 cents at USD 72.25/barrel in London . BP Deutschland ordnet Gasgeschäft neu
Die Deutsche BP AG strukturiert ihr Erdgasgeschäft um: „Wir werden künftig nicht mehr Endkunden direkt beliefern, werden aber alle laufenden Lieferverträge erfüllen“, sagte Vorstandschef Uwe Franke bei der Präsentation der Bilanzzahlen für das Jahr 2006, „wir haben in diesem Bereich bislang nur rote Zahlen geschrieben.“
