Commodities - All eyes on oil

Despite a slight softening in prices at the end of Thursday's session, oil continues to be the main driver for power related commodities.
After hitting all-time highs earlier in the day, oil prices fell at the end of the session both in London and New York . In London, the ICE April Brent contract traded as high as USD 107.88 a barrel, but closed up 28 cents day on day at USD 106.45/barrel. In New York , the Nymex April West Texas Intermediate hit a record USD 111.00 a barrel before slipping to USD 109.77 a barrel, down 1

The oil market set yet another record yesterday as the front month contract traded above 110 dollars a barrel in New York. Meanwhile, the price of European carbon allowances reached an eight-week high.
