Nordic forward prices are falling on Thursday morning due to weak German power prices, indications of wetter weather and spot prices below EUR 50/MWh, traders said.
The Q1 2011 contract last traded at EUR 50.75/MWh at Nord Pool, down EUR 0.25 from Wednesday, while the 2011 contract last traded at 44.80 EUR/MWh, down EUR 0.35. "The market sentiment is negative and as spot prices have not been above EUR 50/MWh recently, this has been a ceiling for the market,” said Mattias Hellberg, trader at Shepherd Energy.
