Nordic Market - The spot factor

The sharp temperature driven rise in the system price this week has created renewed nerves in the market, and forward prices are heading up again today due to colder forecasts.
“It is very much the spot that drives the market at the moment. Everyone was surprised by the strong lift from Monday to Tuesday, and also tomorrow it is very hard to say where the spot will come out. Probably it will drop 4-5 NOK/MWh due to lower Friday consumption. It will also be slightly milder in Norway,” says trader Jens Østbye at Eidsiva energi.The nervousness is refle
