Nordic power prices are rising on Wednesday in line with drier weather forecasts and stronger fuel markets.
The Q3 10 contract was trading at EUR 44.60/MWh at the time of writing, up 35 cents day on day, while Year 2011 was up 45 cents at EUR 43.80/MWh. "It seems as if the weather is drying up, coal is up considerably, German power is strong and emission prices remain strong. Those factors are pushing prices up,” said Svenn Rognås, trader at Norwegian power producer BKK.
