Nordic power prices are continuing to rise on Tuesday as the deep freeze is worsening the hydrological situation and pushing fuel prices up, players said.
The bellwether Q2 10 contract was last seen at EUR 42.95/MWh, up 85 cents day on day. Year 2011 was up 30 cents at EUR 44.00/MWh. "It is still very much the dry and cold weather driving the market. If the hydrological situation continues to worsen players will soon start to worry about the energy situation the spring,” said Jens Nordberg, trader at Swedish supplier Din El.
