Forward prices are easing off Thursday morning, due to somewhat wetter and milder weather forecasts. Nevertheless, market players emphasise the steadily diminishing hydro resources, and expect prices to strengthen again.
“The forecasts are a little wetter, and it gets milder at the end of the period. Still, I believe the market will remain firm, based on a steadily weakening hydro balance. However, rising temperatures could make it more difficult to lift the spot prices next week, and will probably contribute to a softer front end of the curve,” says Per Arne Austli at Norwegian producer BKK.
