Wet weather forecasts are pushing Nordic power forwards down on Wednesday, while the spot is likely to rise above EUR 30 for Thursday on the back of less wind, players said.
The Q3 12 contract was last seen trading at EUR 30.40/MWh at Nasdaq OMX, down 65 cents day on day. "The weather forecasts are quite wet, particularly the EC 00 forecast, which is almost three times wetter than normal. That is the main reason why prices are coming down today,” said Frank Evensen at brokerage QEB.
