Market - NASA connections

All hope of a weather trend change was crushed with the Monday forecasts, and the market consequently gapped up strongly. V1-03 was up more than 40 NOK, and the nearest week traded to 470.00 NOK/MWh. “It’s like a rocket,” an international trader argued, while another stated that greedy traders with bear leanings would be the first to go. A Norwegian trader characterized the fundamental situation as “too late.”
Race in spaceThe high pressure in today’s forecasts comprises a major weather change over the weekend, and players were rather surprised this morning that it had changed so drastically. Market - New Galaxies
The Tuesday morning market continued on its highway to heaven, or hell if you prefer, as weather forecasts are as bullish as they get under the already bad conditions. Figures speak for themselves, with the December weeks up a 100 NOK, V1-03 leaping some 50 NOK to 478 NOK/MWh, and YR-03 lifting above 300 NOK/MWh.

The dry weather trend may have come to an end, and we see westerly autumn winds and precipitation arrive as we enter December, pushing the morning market down considerably but on low volumes. Due to the hard-pressed balance situation a weather change could be good news. The bad news today is the confirmation that three market makers are cancelling their MM agreements, possibly contributing to an even more jittery and volatile market situation, and placing more pressure on the remaining MMs.
