Prices have lifted considerably this morning, and the winter season is up 8.25 NOK/MWh at 328.50. Players attribute today’s movements to technical trading, a realisation that prices plunged too far last week and forecasts that are not wet enough to improve the resource deficit.
– Today’s movements are partly driven by technical trading as the market broke though some technical ceilings yesterday. But it is also due to the fundamentals. We need to see rain delivered, and today’s forecast doesn’t bode well for an improvement of the resource deficit. The low pressures seem to take a more southern track ahead, said a Norwegian trader.
