Market - Bear today, gone tomorrow?

The Tuesday market opened correcting down, helped by weather outlooks pointing towards a possible low-pressure scenario at the end of the period, but mainly due to the great Monday gap. Traders today argue in favour of a strong spot ahead, however, along with an underlying bulltrend that lifts the autumn contract back to NOK 175/176.
Still strongToday’s drop is regarded as a correction from yesterday’s lift, and while the weather trend remains dry for the current week, the possibility of a weather-trend change is nearing. For the time being the system price remains strong, however, and next week it should shoot above 150 NOK/MWh, according to a Norwegian trader:- Monday and Tuesday next

Market - Summer prospects
The morning market was a thin affair, which opened slightly up but traded down around and below the Tuesday close. NENA said this morning that due to reduced inflow ahead, the market should expect a strengthening spot, but held that under normal summer conditions, a falling trend is predicted in the longer term.

With a Monday system price well above expectations, the market gapped up accordingly, along with dry forecasts and “the Swedish condition.” An international trader saw NOK 180 as a realistic target from here, in particular with a close above NOK 175 today. A Swedish trader found NOK 180 to be the ceiling, for now.
