WTI oil prices are falling on Friday morning following an increase in jobless claims in the US to the highest level since October, fuelling speculation that oil demand is slowing, players said.
The WTI contract was last seen USD 0.23 softer at USD 91.18/t while the Brent front month North Sea oil contract last traded USD 0.31 firmer at USD 98.37/bbl.
With the February contract expiring on Friday, the March contract is attracting higher volumes and was last seen USD 0.28 firmer at USD 97.57/bbl.
