Crude oil prices retreated in New York on gains in US fuel supplies, but remained close to the record level. Coal, gas and emissions all strengthened yesterday.
Increasing gasoline and diesel inventories contributed to slightly lower crude oil prices yesterday. Crude oil for February touched a record of USD 100.12/barrel on the Nymex, before easing off to close at USD 99.18/barrel, down 44 cents day on day.
