It was a bearish week in the commodities markets last week, amid more unseasonably mild weather.
The December 2007 carbon contract closed at EUR 4.95/tonne on Friday, down from 6.60 a week earlier while the December 2008 contract fell 2.20 from last Friday to end the week at 18.25.According to Point Carbon, at least two big utilities weighed heavily to sell phase two allowances on Friday, possibly because they wanted to bring down the power price as they have to cover in shortfalls
