Oil prices rose yesterday after another explosion at a BP refinery in Texas, with crude for September surged past USD 60/barrel in Asian trading.
Gasoline and crude oil prices rose to their highest in more than two weeks after a fire at BP Texas City refinery, raising concerns of a shortage of fuel. BP reported that the fire was under control, but did not specify the effect on production. The Texas City refinery can process 460,000 barrels of oil a day, Bloomberg reports.Crude for September delivery at the NYMEX settled at USD 59.
