The CO2 price for 2008 firmed yesterday afternoon after falling considerably in early trade. Meanwhile, oil and gas prices retreated, while coal prices were mixed.
The CO2 market was lifted Tuesday afternoon, and the December 2008 contract settled at EUR 19.25/tonne on the ECX, up 37 cents from the previous close. The contract fell as low as EUR 18.15/tonne earlier in the day, the lowest price since 27 April, before firming to an intraday high of EUR 19.35/tonne.
