Commodities - Carbon prices plunge

Carbon prices dropped by more than 10 per cent from Monday’s close as bearish verification news hit the market.
Carbon had reached historic highs of EUR 31/tonne last week. However, on Tuesday prices began the day at 29.00 before tumbling later to close at the EUR 27.00 mark. The December 06 contract closed at 27.30 on the ECX and at 27.00 on the OTC market. The drop in prices was attributed to the verification reports published by the Czech and Dutch governments, which revealed much lower carbon
