Despite a rather strong fail in oil and gas prices yesterday, carbon prices jumped above the EUR 23 mark.
”Again, I can’t see any fundamental reasons for the increase. It seems to be tightly connected to developments in the German power market. CO2 prices had a strong correlation with oil earlier, but this relationship has been weaker lately,” a broker told Montel Powernews.Allowances for 2005 delivery increased by 55 eurocents at the ECX to settle at EUR 23.25/allowance.
