Nordic Market - Spot uncertainties

The forward market is strengthening Monday morning, with players pointing to somewhat dry outlooks plus high spot uncertainty on the continental power markets.
The Q1-08 contract opened at EUR 55.50, before increasing to EUR 56.35 at the highest so far. "The momentum is a bit stronger today. Last week was quite special, with a worsening of the hydrological balance, while other markets were soft and contributed to lower Nordic forward prices. I think that Nordic players were a bit surprised by the weakness at Nord Pool," said trader Preben Olsen

Nordic power continues down on Friday, and the Q1-08 contract is approaching the lows from last week. Q1-08 was last seen at EUR 54.95MWh, down 10 cents from yesterday.
